I really hate seeing posts about how you should “live ur dream” and how people are “never going to work a 9-5” etc.

Here’s the reality of the situation, it can take a while to get to a place in your career where you are truly happy. While I always encourage people to follow their passions, it isn’t realistic to expect to roll right out of college into the job of your dreams that lets you travel Europe six months out of the year. It’s OK to not love every aspect of your job and live all of your wildest fantasies by 30.

At the end of the day we still live in a capitalistic society and we all have bills to pay. Don’t let Instagram influencers who siphoned half their fortune from a trust fund make you feel bad for working a job you aren’t obsessed with right now. You will grow and change so much and every job - even the horrible ones - will teach you something that you can apply to your career and life later on.

So if you feel like you’re doing life wrong or you don’t have all the freedoms you think you should, just know that your current situation is just a stepping stone to where you really want to be. You will be better for it!

Florence and the Machine at last night’s Spotify event in Brooklyn. As Florence began to sing Sky Full of Song a literal storm began to hit, she never faltered and embraced the storm.

Watching this was an ethereal experience
